Professor Peter Church OAM - Executive Chairman

Peter Church was born in Sydney and has spent almost his entire career as a lawyer and corporate adviser in the markets of South East Asia and India. In 1994 he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) by the Australian Government for promotion of business between Australia and South East Asia. He has been appointed an Adjunct Professor at Curtin Business School, a Distinguished Professor at Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management in New Delhi and a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Great Lakes Institute of Management in Chennai. He holds a number of directorships of listed and unlisted companies and has written a number of books on Asia. Lindley Edwards - Group Chief Executive Officer

Lindley Edwards is the Group Managing Director of AFG Venture Group ( and its various subsidiaries. Lindley is an experienced corporate advisor and has worked on numerous private and public M&A and corporate transactions in the food/agri, services, retail, education, technology and resources sectors. Her work involves merger, acquisition, divestment, fund raising, licensing, strategic consulting, distribution and joint ventures. Since the mid 90's Lindley has been very active in Asia, which includes Asean and North Asia undertaking corporate transactions as well as micro credit and social impact work.


Michael Fay - Director and Head - Education Services

Michael is a Director and Head of Educational Services at AFG VG. Michael was a co- founder of Insearch Language Centre UTS (1987), Australia's first public private partnership in international education. In 1994 he founded the Australia Centre Medan, North Sumatra which will had its 25th anniversary in 2019. He is an Honorary Fellow of the University of Technology Sydney UTS and was on the Board of the Australia Indonesia Business Council (AIBC) 2015-2019.

Elizabeth Bergin - Principal - North America

Elizabeth Bergin is based in Washington DC, and is responsible for the Americas operations of AFG Venture Group, with a track record in cross-border transactions in a number of sectors.

Prior to joining AFG Venture Group, Ms Bergin was a lawyer in the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department and has worked for the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, as well as Australia's Foreign Affairs Department.

Bruce Sherlock - Executive Consultant

My first selling job was a tray boy selling chocolates at age 11. My career has always been in a sales capacity ever since. Leading producer of risk assurance over a 25 year period as a broker. With Prudential Life Company, Occidental Life, Mercantile Mutual, Australian Casualty, I have been Fortunate to speak in many conferences throughout the world and the life assurance business has been good to me. I am the founder of three life insurance companies.


Graham Libbesson - Executive Consultant

Graham was a chartered accountant for over 30 years. He was a partner at a largish firm of chartered accountants for 17 years, including being managing partner and senior tax partner.

For the last 20 years he has been Chairman and director of and/or advisor to, and shareholder in, various private and listed companies, including ICT and mining/exploration companies, and other technology companies.


Thomson Ch'ng - International Specialist Advisor

Thomson Ch'ng is the co-convenor of the ASEAN-Australia Education Dialogue (AAED) and an International Specialist Advisor at ASEAN Focus Group (AFG VG).
